Case for Support 2026 – Outward Bound Canada

This piece shows how I turned program outcomes, research, and organizational priorities into a clear, cohesive narrative for diverse stakeholders.

It was developed at a time when Outward Bound Canada (OBC) was responding to growing demand for youth mental health support, alongside increasing financial barriers to participation. The challenge was to connect national data, lived experiences, and program outcomes into a case for investment that felt both urgent and grounded in long-term impact.

Rather than presenting information in isolation, the document builds a structured narrative that moves from systemic challenges facing youth, to the role of outdoor education as a response, and finally to a clear framework for how funding supports scalable, meaningful outcomes. It connects research, participant stories, and operational priorities into a unified story that supports decision-making and resource mobilization.

As Communications Manager, I led the narrative strategy and development of the document, working across teams to gather inputs, shape the structure, and ensure consistency in messaging. The goal wasn’t just to communicate impact, but to help stakeholders understand the broader context the organization operates within and where their support fits.

The final document is used to support national fundraising efforts, partner engagement, and to guide organizational messaging across channels.
